Enough of Sugar

Sugar!

Today I denounce you

Though I jabbered when l first saw you

When I first met you

Sweetness to you was incomparable

But today, I declare you my past

Sugar!

You possessed my inmost being

I languished but for you alone

I cried for none but you alone

But you alone sugar, but you…

Fill my soul with mellitus

Inflicted my heart with insipidus

Kissed me with your diabetic sweetness

But now I declare you moribund

I declare you synonymous to extinction

Sugar!

You were killing me softly

So softly I shut my senses

So softly, blindly I wasted away

Now, I declare you my past

For your memory’s sake,

I beckon amnesia with entreaty

Sugar!

You shimmered and glittered

You glittered but you’re not gold

Your gold glitters like Gehenna

Flee now, I’ve had enough of you

Flee, for a new morn has dawned

Oh honey!

Sweetly sweet honey!

Purge my reliquiae from all sugary sweetness.
